  • Selecting appropriate structural systems and materials that can resist the loads, while considering the environmental factors that may affect the building, such as corrosion and fire.

  • Designing the structural elements, such as columns, beams, slabs, walls, and foundations, to meet the minimum strength and stability requirements set out in Part A of building regulations.
