Designers of the Future

This is a five-week course that aims to support young people wanting to kickstart a creative career.

Here at Architecture North, we believe that there is no “standard route” into the creative industry but with curiosity, inventiveness, and resilience anyone can pursue working in a creative role.

The course is designed to prove inspiration access to young people who may have not previously considered a creative career. We will provide practical designing and making experience, as well as sharing our knowledge and help instill the interpersonal skills needed to develop in the creative industries.

Screenprinting

Learn the art of screenprinting at our studio. Our one-day course is perfect for beginners and in-depth enough to equip you with the necessary skills to continue developing your practice in your free time.

We'll walk you through the entire process from the coating and exposing screens to washing out ink mixing and printing.

You’ll walk away with 2 meters of fabric printed with a your own 1-2 colour design.

Our workshop runs from 10.00am - 2:00pm with a 30min break, where time you're welcome to explore.

Learn SketchUp with us, and bring your creativity to life!

This course is an introduction to developing 3D design ideas using a computer. The SketchUp Pro software is a
very user-friendly 3D modelling program that enables perspective drawings and 2D orthographic projections (plans, elevation and sections). It is ideal for conceptual interior design proposals as well as final designs that are fully rendered and scaled. It can also be used for modelling objects and outdoor spaces. The SketchUp Pro software is sufficiently adaptable to be relevant for the home enthusiast and professionals alike.

Learn to visualise and model interior spaces and 3D forms with this easy-to-use and intuitive program. It is a perfect addition to our interior and design courses. The software is very affordable and available on both PC or Mac.

Learning Adobe Photoshop

If you’re new to Photoshop then this course is for you.

Here at Architecture North we use Adobe Photoshop to create contemporary visuals to demonstrate our intentions to our clients. Within this workshop you’ll get to grips with retouching imagery, adjustments, working with layers, cloning and amending your imagery.

You will arrive with ideas and leave with new skills. If you're wishing to output to web, print or mobile devices, this course will get you up to speed in no time
